England's Crown Prosecution Service has filed two new alleged rape charges against Thomas Partey, the former Arsenal midfielder who joined Villarreal on a free transfer last summer. These charges are in addition to an existing case, for which he will stand trial this coming November.

As 'The Telegraph' reports, he first faced allegations for the two new offences in August 2025. These allegedly involve a different woman and date back to 2020, a period when the Ghanaian had just arrived at London club Arsenal in the Premier League.

Thomas has been summoned to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday, March 13, regarding these accusations. As stated, these are separate from the original case. In September 2025, Thomas pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault at Southwark Crown Court. Those alleged incidents reportedly occurred between 2021 and 2022.

Prosecutors formally charged the 32-year-old midfielder four days after his Arsenal contract expired in July 2025. He has since remained on bail. On August 7, Villarreal announced they had signed the midfielder for one season, until June 30, 2026, with an option for a further year.

Despite his ongoing legal situation, Thomas can continue his professional career as normal. However, his bail conditions require him to notify police 24 hours in advance of any international travel. He has followed this procedure when playing for Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League group stage. The Ghanaian is due to stand trial for his initial open case on November 2 this year.
