Huawei Becomes First Company to Receive IoT Cybersecurity Certificate in Hungary
Huawei Technologies Hungary has become the first company in Hungary to receive an IoT cybersecurity certificate from the Regulatory Authority for Regulated Activities (SZTFH). The certification covers the company's residential solar inverters and was presented by SZTFH President Dr. László Nagy at the Huawei Digital Power Summit Hungary conference.
Rigorous Certification ProcessThe certification process, developed by SZTFH specifically for IoT devices, examined the solar inverters against strict cybersecurity criteria. The procedure is based on SZTFH Regulation 10/2023 (V. 15.) and EU cybersecurity regulations.
"As the national cybersecurity certification authority, we are committed to ensuring the cybersecurity compliance of digital products manufactured in Hungary and sold on the Hungarian market," Dr. Nagy stated. "We believe that in an ever-evolving digital world, we must provide citizens and businesses with devices that meet appropriate cybersecurity standards."
First Application, First ApprovalXie Wenbo, Director of Huawei's Regional Cybersecurity Transparency Center, confirmed that Huawei was the first company to submit a certification application and the first to receive positive approval from the authority. The certification guarantees that the product has undergone multi-stage cybersecurity verification and is transparently designed, manufactured, and maintained.
Local Manufacturing Strengthens SignificanceThe announcement carries particular weight given that Huawei manufactures the certified devices in Hungary, reinforcing the company's local economic presence. Huawei is the global market leader in solar inverters and energy storage systems, has operated in Hungary for 20 years, employs more than 2,000 people, and has been a strategic partner of the Hungarian government since 2013.
The conference brought together over 100 executives and scientific experts from Hungary's energy sector to discuss the future of renewable energy.
